HOW TO SEND A PACKAGE

1.   Get the following supplies from your local post office:
  • One # 7 box (large package) and one #4 box for smaller items (to pack inside a # 7 box)  or one Flat Rate 0-FRB1 box for unlimited weight at $7.70 per box.
  • Customs declaration and clear mailer-Forms 2976A and 2976E
  • One Priority Mail Label (or use a plain label)
  • Priority mail tape
  2.  Suggested personal items for the package:

       Individually wrapped food and snacks (non-perishable)

       Travel size toiletries

Baby Wipes Stamps 37 cents

       Stationary pad and pen

CD's Battery operated games

       Batteries -  all sizes

Toilet Paper Suntan Lotion

     
Go to www.singforpeace.com  and click on "Supplies Lists" for additional items.  AVOID glass, aerosols, chocolate, tobacco, homemade food and perishables.

 
3.   Pack items tightly to avoid breakage
       Separate food from personal items using zip lock bags ( they will be reused)
       Double tape all seams with priority mail tape or strong shipping tape
       Wrap a strip of tape around all sides
 4.  Click on the "Adopt A Troop" link and select a name, branch and complete mailing address.
 5.  Fill out the custom form sections:
       From:
       To:
       Description of contents (non-perishable food, toiletries, entertain items, etc.)
       Check - Airmail/Priority, Gift and Treat as Abandoned
       Estimate value ( $25.00 to $30.00 for most)
       Enter weight at post office
       Date and Sign


We recommend you don't send items which require insurance.

Print on the outside of the box on the upper left corner:

"Operation Military Pride- If undeliverable, please keep and share with your unit"

6.  Your package is now ready for mailing at a US post office.
