QUICK
INSTRUCTIONS |
|
|
Adopt a Troop |
| If you
would like to personally send a package to be distributed to a
deployed soldier- someone that has not received any packages from
home- please send to one of the following APO/FPO addresses and it
will be given out by the company 1st Sgt. |
|
Suggestions |
| 1. Keep it simple!
Think travel size or small and portable when selecting items. |
| 2. A small note of
encouragement will be appreciated as much as the articles you have
so carefully chosen. |
| 3. Shipping costs
are for East to West coasts only; APO and FPO are military routing
post office locations through San Francisco, New York or Miami. |
| 4. Fleet Post Office in
San Francisco is the primary gateway for troops in Iraq and
Afghanistan, so determine shipping costs to San Francisco for those
locations only. |
| 5. Ask family members,
co-workers or church friends to share in the cost of shopping and
shipping. |
| 6. Encourage
organizations that you have a membership in to sponsor one or more
service members. |
| 7. Be aware that
for many of the military this is their first time away from home,
and many are homesick. |
| 8. Do not be
disappointed if you do not get a thank you note - our military is
busy right now. |
| 9. Remember your
"adopted" military member is going to be overseas for an the average
of one year. A frequent note or another package would be true
support. |
|
